study plan

this term i will continue my research about  escaping reality in contemporary theatre performances. i will test my ideas about using comics as a medium for my research's goal.

The group project and solo project will be the main areas where i will test those ideas.My ambition is to achieve  making more personal project in that term something that i am not sure if i will be able to do.

The performances 

group performance:our group performance is based on  the "Dream play" of A.Strindberg.the original script will be adapted,by isolating the speeches and specific questions that Agnes -the main caracter want answers to and to stress the illogic of the dream by reorganizing the sequence of the dialogue.to make the performance we will use a scenery,video, costume ,sound made my voices, lighting design and it will be performed by one performer and  the "voice of humanity" that will be played by a voice/a face on the screen/video.

solo performance

my solo performance will have to do with my personal research.i will probably make a perfomative  piece that will have as a starting point a text-idea.i will create a performance/instalation that i will test my ideas about hypperreality in theatre and comics as a medium in theatre performances.my goal is not to make a complete -finished piece but an experiment.the result of this experiment will help me find my way for my final project.

Methodology

group work: in the group project i will try to combine Strindberg's ideas with group ideas.i would like to experiment with different positions in theatre such as designing costumes,performing,lighting design and direction.i will try to transfer the results of our interpretation of Strindbergs text in whatever i will be involved in the performance.i will also try to test some of my personal work interest wherever that can happen. i have already researched images that i believe that have a relation with the text.i want to do a research about the theme of the "door".For the technical part i will  do some research about materials that are good for the set deign and costume.Together with Aditi and Jessica we will have the general supervision of the performance. 

personal work: i will  decide a starting point  for making my personal work.i am thinking about a greek myth-fairy tale and also a comic book for children. i will try to contemporize the original text and idea as i will have as base my own interpretation of the text and my own worries about the theme of it.Having a text-idea as a starting point will help develop my research and do a more concentrated work.

i would like to make my own comic figure as i started taking lessons about animated caracter design.The reason of taking these lessons is to understand the way comics are structured and the sense of making them. I will also take some lessons of animation so i am planning have some animated piece of my own comic if not this term maybe the next one. I believe animation will help me have the aesthetic i want for my final project for the course.i have a thought of making a comic of the basic caracter of the greek myth or of the children book's caracter-it depends of i will finally decide.

in my plans is also to have so conversations with people who make comics and  what they think about the social effect comic have.i will also try to make some thoughts about why there is so much animation and comics in art like cinema lately.Why comics are interesting for art industry lately?

i am very interested about the feedback that i will have in my attempts.
